Why is the Titanic still under water and why has it not been brought to the surface?

You must have read and heard a lot about Titanic. We are not talking about the film, but the real Titanic ship on which the film was made. It has been 108 years since the Titanic became known as the world's largest ship. People know where its debris is, but till date that debris has not been removed from the sea. Do you know why? No, so let's tell you about it in detail, which you will be surprised to know.

The Titanic sailed for New York from Southampton harbor, Britain on its maiden voyage on 10 April 1912, but on 15 April 1912 collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean and broke into two pieces and its debris lay at a depth of 3.8 kilometers.

About 1500 people were killed in the Titanic accident. It is considered one of the biggest maritime events of that time. For about 70 years, the wreckage of this ship was lying untouched in the sea. In 1985, the wreck of the Titanic was first discovered by explorer Robert Ballard and his team.

The ship where it was sunk, the ravine is dark and the temperature reaches one degree Celsius at the depth of the sea. Now it is very difficult for a person to go into such depth and then come back safely. In such a situation, bringing the wreckage of the ship is very far away and anyway the ship was so big and heavy that it is almost impossible to get the debris out at a depth of about four kilometers.

It is said that the debris of the Titanic will not be able to last long inside the sea, because it is rapidly melting. According to experts, the debris of the Titanic will completely melt in the coming 20-30 years and will dissolve in the sea water. In fact, the bacteria found in the sea are rapidly mutilating its iron structure, due to which it is rusting.

According to a BBC report, these bacteria causing rust consume around 180 kg of debris every day. This is the reason why scientists believe that Titanic's age is not much longer.
